People sometimes laugh when I tell them I grew up in the 80s! What?..The British invasion may have side tracked real rock back then, but there were TOUGH, AWESOME DIVAS that sang to us over the radio...and filled our bedrooms with music! I wanna give a SHOUT OUT to my favorite 80s Divas!
ROCK DIVA LEGEND STEVIE NICKS
Music is my therapy! Since early childhood and I walked around with a Mickey Mouse transister radio, and listened to Casey Kasem! But NO ONE has stirred my soul like STEVIE NICKS!
She is gifted with voice, fashion sense, and song writing abilities. Fleetwood Mac's Top Hits were written by Stevie! Below is my favorite video...CLASSIC STEVIE!
MADONNA
Madonna burst on the 80s music scene with a SASSY attitude, SEXY look, and a NEW FASHION STYLE! She took the WORLD BY STORM...and hasn't stopped yet!
PAT BENATAR
Pat debuted her music in thee late 70s...but became a ROCK DIVA in the 80s! Not many people know she has an 8 octive voice!...Pat was also an opera singer first, but knew her soul needed ROCK!
HEART
This Hot, talented SISTER DUO came on the music scene in the 70s also! Before any other female rockers...HEART managed to BLOW FANS AWAY with their natural family harmonies and EDGY ROCK LYRICS.
WHITNEY HOUSTON
This Multi-Grammy winner fisrt entered the music scene when discovered by Clive Davis after many others came to him after hearing her sing! Few people know she was a "SEVENTEEN" model in her teens, and her aunt is Dionne Warwick. My favorite song...is a Grammy Winner!
SHERYL CROW
She is a soft, southern girl, with a heart for music, tons of GRAMMYS, and a Breast Cancer Survivor! Her song "All I Wanna Do" sparked fans to "Peel their labels of a bottle of bud". But she is best known for this song...My favorite!
I hope you have enjoyed my trip down memory lane! For all the 80s ladies out there...LET'S KEEP THIS MUSIC ALIVE!
For all the millennials out there...I hope to open up a whole new history of music that is still alive today! Karaoke Bars, Road Trips, State Fairs, Festivals & Living Rooms everywhere COME ALIVE when opened to this AWESOME ERA OF ROCK!
