80s ROCK GODS

With the British Invasion of the 80s, and techno-pop, there was very little on the ROCK MUSIC scene. I want to pay my respect to the few ROCK GODS, or those in ROCK BANDS, that totally rocked our world!

EDDY VAN HALEN

 Eddie Van Halen, along with his brother Alex, from Pasadena Ca. started the Band in 1972. What most people don't know, is Eddie Van Halen studied classical music, and is the son of a dutcu American Musician Father. Most people DO KNOW he was married to actress Valeri Bertonelli for many years, and has a son that now plays in the band. The Band wrote & produced many Albums since then, but my ALL TIME FAV, "JUMP" from 1984! Here is my favorite video from that album.

BILLY IDOL

In 1981, Idol moved to New York City to pursue his solo career in collaboration with guitarist Steve Stevens. His debut studio album Billy Idol (1982) was a commercial success and with music videos for singles "Dancing with Myself" and "White Wedding" Idol soon became a staple of then newly established MTV. His top selling Album was his 2nd album, "Rebel Yell". He made girls everywhere swoon with every move, and his ever popular fist pumping! YES, BILLY IDOL STARTED THIS CRAZE! My fav video is the Title Track from that Album.

PRINCE

He was born "Prince" Rogers Nelson in Minnesota. His musical ability, although he isn't a so-called "rock star", gives him this credit. He played many of his own instruments, and wrote many of his own songs. He also wrote for other musicians. His Top Selling Album "Purple Rain" topped the charts for a long time! His death shocked the world! We love you PRINCE, and this blogger gives you the credit! My favorite video by Prince, is from that album. The movie also titled "Purple Rain" tells his life story.

BRETT MICHAELS (POISON)

Poison was the perfect "pretty boy" ROCK BAND! The front man, Brett Michaels received more attention from his hair, than most women! Their "work hard, play hard" motto, gave them headlines for more than just music! Although a feud broke up the band in the 90s, they are STILL ROCKIN! They continue to write & record to this day! I have personally seen them, and OMG!

DEF LEPPARD

An English rock band, they rose to stardom after USA Music Producer, Mutt Lange signed on as their producer. Lange is also known as ex-huband to Shania Twain! Their edgy, clean rock sound, elevaed them to stardom! SOngs like "Pour some sugar", and "Rock of Ages, are just a few of their hits. They kept performing, even after their drummer lost his arm in a car wreck! Now, as the drummer, he can still make great music! This concert tour is a "MUST SEE" this year with a nationwide tour! Journey is touring with them, and I've got tickets for July! Stay tuned for video highlights! Here is my fav song by Def Leppard!
