SUNDAY FUNDAY @ BLANCHARD SPRINGS CAVERNS & OZARK NATIONAL FOREST

SUNDAY FUNDAY @ BLANCHARD SPRINGS

It never ceases to amaze me the beauty of God's creation! The natural landscape of the forest, and the
timeless scenery that amazing millions of people every year!

The Ozark National Forest consists of many acres of natural beauty. Caverns that were formed thousands of years ago, but just discovered at the turn of the century. Natural Springs starting from the caverns, flowing through the Forest, and then into the White River. They offer Cavern Tours daily, miles of hiking trails, horseback riding, camping areas, and a Gift Shop/Museum dedicated to the Caverns, and their story.

The Old Mill Stream (pictured below) was a working mill in this area from 1829 until the 1930's.
It is an awesome site with alot of history.

The Mirror Lake ( Blue-green Lake in Top Video) is a relaxing shade of blue, that has such a reflective quality. Hence the name, Mirror Lake.

The stream meanders through the forest floor, cascading over natural rock formations, and ledges of sandstone natural to this area.

Gunner Pool (pictured below) is a natural pool that was formed when the stream, 1000s of years ago, carved out the natural landscape, and formed a natural swimming hole, that both locals, and tourists enjoy daily. It has a Pavillion available for groups, restrooms, a changing room, and lots of shade trees, perfect for a picnic. The stream is cool, but perfect for a nice swim on a hot summer day.

The stream further flows in the Sylamore Natural Recreation area, that has more campground, natural hiking trails, and lots of beautiful, natural scenery. The Colors are breathtaking!

The Sandstone Cliffs and Natural Caves are another amazing formation to see! Inside the cave's are natural writings from the Indians form years ago. The Green shade of trees and grass provide a relaxing place to sit for a while, and take in the natural beauty of the area.

It was a wonderful day with my family, and made us proud of our southern heritage, and the Natural Beauty of our Natural State. The Ozark National Forest and Blanchard Springs Cavern, and Natural Recreation Area is a must for a daytrip from anywhere in Arkansas, and a great weekend trip from the southern states.

Arkansas wasn't nicknamed the #naturalstate for nothing! lol..I invite you to come share in the Beauty that we are so proud of. The place we call home!

Thank You for reading. I hope you enjoyed the photos from our Day trip!

Stay tuned for more summer road trip Blog Posts!
