BEACH HOPPING HONEYMOON BLOG SERIES DAY 2

BEACH HOPPING HONEYMOON DAY 2 GULF SHORES NATIONAL SEASHORE, MOBILE & ORANGE BEACH ALABAMA

Day 2 started with a Major Thunderstorm! ( Day 1 Blog Post) But followed was a magnificent Sunrise, and we were of further down the coast. Our journey continued through Mississippi. The main beach highway 90 takes you from New Orleans to Pensacola. Then the next main beach highway is 98 took us straight through Panama City Beach.

We stopped at THE HARD ROCK CASINO BILOXI for a little music and entertainment! WOW! What a place! You guys need to check it out, for sure! It has an outdoor pool with a bar! The Hotel is right on the water!

Heading along highway 90 where we wanted to check out the often times, neglected natural setting of The Gulf Island National Seashore, which encompasses 3 states, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. It is a natural setting, with water washed dunes, and natural vegetation. We stopped to walk by the shore, and it was a wonder to see, although we were attacked by the biggest flies ever! We had to run back to the car! We found another trail that led to the coast, and decided to see where it would take us!

We hiked a bit, then seen the sign! OMG Alligators?...lol.. Like we would really want to disturb the Alligators! But this was there home, and we were glad to get back to our car!

The primitive setting was a bit much for us, so we headed further down the Beach Highway, which took us into Mobile Alabama. The city skyline was beautiful, especially seeing the Battleships in Battleship Park.

The Day was pretty cloudy, which bummed us out a little. Our next destination was Orange Beach Alabama, where we planned a picnic lunch. The Picnic Basket filled with goodies was a wedding gift from my cousin Joyce! It was much appreciated!

The sun was starting to come out, and that made us very happy! What fun was a beach hopping honeymoon without the sun? We enjoyed our picnic, had an awesome walk along THE WHARF in Orange Beach. The promenade was busy with people shopping, eating local food, and the Ferris Wheel was an unexpected sight. I have a fear of heights, so we skipped the ride, and took pictures instead!

Orange Beach was definitely worth the visit! We plan to visit more in the summers ahead.
We liked the fact that they were not as crowded as Florida Beaches, but the food and hotel prices were virtually the same. The water was a bit muddier that the pristine beaches of Destin!

Stay tuned, when we will pick up tomorrow in Destin! It will still be day 2 of Our Beach Hopping Honeymoon! We  took some amazing pictures, and ate some delicious Seafood!

Hope you enjoyed Our Day 2 Beach Blog!
